Time Well Spent

I have learned a lot in my journey in receiving my Masters degree. I have learned valuable information about myself, the industry and “how tos” that will help me within the classroom and with relationships with parents and their children. I have learned of how to better prepare a proposal or dream and go about it in a way that it is more likely to become a reality. I have learned that the sky is the limit! I have learned that I am truly an advocate for a lot of things, not just for children and their well being but diversity, issues around the world, all areas of development and much more. I have also learned more about how to go about anti-bias learning with children and I have expanded my own ideas and continued to “think outside the box”. I have also learned a great deal about myself, and to remember to keep looking inward in order to better my own teachings and to make sure I give the very best towards issues with children. I never realized that the two have a strong connection, but they really do. I have also learned to think big and to have big goals, my overall goal in general is to minimize bias thinking around the world, but one would have to start small initially to get to the bigger issues. So my long term goal would be to make a difference in my position as a teacher, to change the world, one child at a time, or to teach children anti-bias education, to respect one another and to accept everyone no matter what, and to educate them more on the unknown to cause them to grow their own opinions about the world, their friends, their family and most importantly themselves. I want to take a moment to thank all my instructors, especially Tammy Shepard for helping with providing links, insight, information and being a constant support. I would also like to thank my colleagues for being there to share experiences, thoughts and feedback for which was vital through the learning experience for all of us. I wish you all good luck, congratulations, and the very best in your own personal journey and future in the field. I hope to stay in touch with each of you, as we all continue to learn more together throughout each of our journeys before us. I have enjoyed our connections and look forward to hearing more about your next steps. I am on facebook and I can be contacted through there or email, j3bct426@hotmail.com. Thank you so much! Best of luck and Congratulations!
